FEC Approves N600m For Equipment in OAUTH
The Ministry of Health has obtained approval from the Federal Executive Council, FEC, to procure Magnetic Resonance Imaging Equipment, MRIE, and its accessories at N600 million, for the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile Ife.
The Minister, Dr Ohanare Osagie, told newsmen that the procurement of the new equipment, will be delivered in 6 month’s time, was meant to facilitate comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services.
FEC approves N4bn for Police Trust Fund
The Police Trust Fund equally obtained FEC’s approval to procure 50 assorted vehicles, their fuelling, and the insurance covers of over 450 vehicles purchased between 2020 and 2022, at the cost of over 4 billion Naira.
The Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, said the vehicles would be used for tactical operations, supervision, and strategic deployment to improve security.
Dualisation of 110km Enugun-Onitsha way
FEC also approved MTN’s proposition, under the Tax Credit Scheme, to take-over and complete the ongoing dualisation of the 110-kilometre Enugu-Onitsha Expressway.
The Minister of Works, Mr Babatunde Fashola, said the approval would ensure a steady and sustained stream of funding of about 203 billion Naira to the completion of the remaining 92 kilometres of the road under rehabilitation.
Similarly, FEC, under the Tax Credit Scheme, approved that GZ company should take over the 3.7-kilometre Umujiji-Osusu-Umu-eme-GZ Industries Road in Abia State, at the cost of 4 billion Naira.
FEC also ratified the International Labour Organisation Covention 181, which seeks to compel private employment agencies and companies to respect the rights and decency of minial job employees.
The meeting equally approved the adoption of the Revised National Policy of Labour Migration and its Action Plan, which seeks to protect the dignity of migrant workers in Nigeria and foreigners.
