2nd Edition Of The Justice Hackathon Themed – Justice For the User, By the User (Justice FUBU).
Supported by MentorMe Nigeria, HiiL West Africa is organising the 2nd edition of the justice hackathon themed – Justice For the User, By the User (Justice FUBU).
This hackathon will focus on identifying unique innovations that are solving justice issues around :
– Family disputes(e.g abuse, divorce, land, emergency response services)
– Money related justice issues. e.g fraud, theft associated with lending & borrowing money, financial services (payments, savings, wallets) for the unbanked and underbanked.
The hackathon will host law students, lawyers, entrepreneurs, technology enthusiasts, social justice enthusiasts – anyone interested in creating solutions that help everyday people prevent or resolve their most pressing justice needs.
The justice hackathon is a one week hackathon (a mix of physical and virtual sessions) that will be held from the 10th of September to the 17th of September.
The physical events would be held in Lagos on the 10th of September (the Opening day) & 17th of September(the Pitch day & a happy hour evening). The other sessions would be held virtually. The sessions will consist of workshops in Design Thinking, Building an MVP and How to Deliver a Pitch.
The prizes to be won are:
1st position: 1,000 EUR
2nd position: 700 EUR
3rd position : 500 EUR
This also includes an automatic spot at the HiiL WA Justice Entrepreneurship School, and access to the community & support of other justice innovators.
Through this hackathon, we hope to discover innovative solutions that will grow into sustainable and scalable game-changing startups.
