BREAKING: PDP Candidate, Adeleke Ademola Declared Winner Of Osun Governorship Election

The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Adeleke Ademola, in the Saturday, 16, July, 2022 governorship election held in Osun state, has been declared winner by the Returning Officer for the election and Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, having polled a total of 403,371 votes to defeat 14 other candidates.

Adeleke Ademola defeated the incumbent Governor Oyetola Adegboyega of the All Progressive Congress Party candidate, who polled a total of 375,027 votes.

Declaring the result, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, said that: “Adeleke Ademola, having fulfilled the requirements of the law and got the highest votes is the winner and is returned elected”.

Adeleke won 17 local government areas while the incumbent governor secured victory in 13 local government areas.

Kehinde Atanda of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) placed a distant third with 10,104 votes while Yusuf Lasun of the Labour Party (LP) had 2729 votes.
