“There’s Dignity in Labour,” Peter Obi Replies Tinubu
Ahead of the July 16 governorship election in Osun State, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has told his opponent, Bola Tinubu, that “there is dignity in labour”.
Recalls that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, took a dig at opposition parties participating in the forthcoming Osun governorship election.
The former governor of Lagos, who spoke at the Osun APC mega rally on Tuesday, described the Labour Party and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as “mushroom parties” who will “labour to death”.
Responding on Wednesday, Obi said Tinubu’s comment is derogatory.
The former Anambra State governor made the remark in Osogbo, Osun State, at a mega rally to support the governorship candidate of the party, Lasun Yusuff.
“I listened to our chairman when he said that somebody said ‘they can labour till death’.
“When they show you hatred, Labour Party will show them love. There is dignity in labour,” Obi said.
