The 3rd Adavize Alao Symposium on Privacy and Data Protection is set to hold on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. The event is themed, “Consumer Protection in the Digital Age.”

The virtual symposium is being facilitated by Lawyard with the support of Duale Ovia & Alex-Adedipe (DOA), TechHive Advisory, Garnet Law Practice, IKIGAI and LegalNaija.

Winners of the 3rd edition of the Adavize Alao Essay Competition on Privacy and Data Protection: Tsebee Dorcas, Sina Victor Akinmusire, Durueke Clinton Charles (Law Students category) and Gabriel Temitope Omoniyi, Chidera Emmanuel Chikere, Olawoyin Tolani Mustapha (Young Lawyers’ category), will similarly be presented to the public during the symposium and shortly thereafter receive their prizes.

The winner of the Law Students Category of the Essay Competition will receive a cash prize of N100,000 + IAPP membership + 1-month internship with TechHive Advisory.

Also, the winner from the Young Lawyers’ Category will receive a cash prize of N200,000 + IAPP certification kit & membership worth $1000.

The first edition of the Adavize Alao Symposium on Privacy and Data Protection was held in Lagos in November 2019 and similarly featured the presentation of prizes to the inaugural winners of the Adavize Alao Essay Competition on Privacy and Data Protection: Victoria Oloni (Law Students category) and Agih Sylvester Isaac (Young Lawyers’ category).
