Buhari Postpones Medical Trip To UK
President Muhammadu Buhari has put off his roughly two-week medical trip, originally scheduled for today.
A State House Press Release Friday afternoon by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, announced the shift in Buhari’s trip that had on Thursday been published as a planned trip to keep an appointment with his doctors.
Titled, “President Buhari Postpones London Trip,” Adesina’s terse statement on Friday read:
“The medical follow-up visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to (the) United Kingdom earlier scheduled for today, Friday, June 25, 2021, has been postponed.
“A new date will be announced in due course.”
No reason was adduced to the alteration in the arrangement, which as usual had not been communicated to the National Assembly.
The Presidency had always put it out that the President can rule the country from anywhere in the world with the benefit of technology.
Buhari has earlier on in his first term beginning in 2015 undertaken medical tourism to the UK for an undisclosed ailment.
Against popular opinion, he mostly failed to transfer power to his Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.
