SPIDEL CONFAB: Early Bird Registration Now Ends May 17
The Central Planning Committee (CPC) for the forthcoming Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL) Annual Conference has bowed to pressure by extending the early bird window for registration by aspiring conferees.
In a statement by Mr. Emeka Nwadioke, Head of the Media & Publicity Sub-committee, the CPC stated that early bird registration has now been extended from May 10 to May 17, 2021. “This is to enable many lawyers and stakeholders who are keen to attend the eagerly awaited annual conference to do so,” the statement said. “Accordingly, the schedule of fees for the early bird window will remain till May 17, 2021.”
The theme for the conference which holds at the world-class Jogor Centre in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital is “The role of public interest in governance in Nigeria.”
While the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has assured conferees of a “very good experience” during the conference, the state Chief Judge, Justice Munta Abimbola has also expressed his full commitment to host conferees to a memorable Welcome Cocktail Party on Sunday, May 23, 2021.
An array of leading human rights activists and other stakeholders in the public interest sector have confirmed attendance while many topical issues have been lined up for discussion during the technical sessions. Many sideline fun activities have been lined up to thrill conferees during the annual fiesta, even as the committee has stated that “The annual conference will be held in strict observance of COVID-19 protocols.”
